In honor of our 90th anniversary, we’re recognizing 90 Georgians who have made their mark on our incredible state. Today, we’re celebrating opening day of America’s greatest pastime by featuring Atlanta native and former outfielder, Jeff Francoeur.
Nicknamed “Frenchy,” he electrified Atlanta baseball fans with his exciting plays and powerful bat. A first-round draft pick, he rose through the minors and delivered a memorable debut with a home run in his first at-bat. He also earned a Golden Glove for his stellar defense.
After a successful career with multiple teams, Francoeur returned to Atlanta as a broadcaster, sharing his passion for the game with a new generation of fans.
